My video

Good morning people!!!

After a strong paddling session for about 46 hours, starting from Foinikounta village, the crew decided to make a pitstop at picturesque Monemvasia due to intense winds and heavy weather systems which according to our meteorologist's predictions, these phenomena will continue for a few more days. This was Dimitris' first real acquaintance with Mr. Hops and it wasn't easy. Last night Dimitris sent me the letter below, another pure confession of how he experiences his adventure.

Well the past few days have been a life-time experience!

Sometimes it’s funny how you might plan something for such a long time and how easily things can change radically from one minute to the other. It’s amazing where this change may lead you! Last Saturday we were supposed to be at Chania (Crete) from where Dimitris, Huw & Marin, would row towards Cyprus and then finally Turkey. However the universe planned it differently and Chania were replaced by Foinikounta, a small village at the southern part of Peloponnese. It could have been so many other places, but it was Foinikounta after all! The place where we used to have our family vacations for about 25 years and the place where people know us, love us and were ready to support us. As we would say in Greek, “...pure luck? Don’t think so!”

About an hour before Dimitris got in Mr. Hops, he sent us a letter from the heart, exposing and sharing his thoughts, worries and feelings, thanking all those people who have contributed in one way or another to make this trip a reality and a life-time experience right form the start. I know this letter is in Greek and I am truly sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, however these words express a unique moment of personal truth, that shouldn't be missing from his personal blog.

Hello everybody!

Hope everyone is well, enjoying their weekend!

This is Eva writing, Dimitris’ one and only sister ;-)
